Why should I purchase the CM900 or IM900 rather then a consumer camera

Using a consumer camera is less expensive but not necessarily a simple method of slit lamp imaging. If it was simple then we would have had no need to develop the IM or CM cameras and everyone would be using consumer cameras.

The lens systems on consumer cameras make the integration with the slitlamp optics very difficult. These cameras are no designed for use with other optical systems and as a result the images often disappoint. Furthermore it is often very difficult to produce a real time image or review the captured image as most consumer cameras switch modes when the USB cable is attached.

Exposure setting is difficult and the trigger delay can often lead to frustration as the important image is often missed.

The IM and CM produce live, full resolutions images onscreen and this allows you to set exposure easily. Images can be captured without delay be remote control or footswitch and images are directly transferred to a patient file.

The IM and CM are therefore professional solutions that can produce excellent quality images and reduce the potential for any legal issues that could arise when 'consumer' cameras, not designed for the task, are used.
